Fall Fest Postponed to Sunday Oct. 25th

Due to the Inclement weather, the Fall Fest has been postponed until Sunday October 25th 
@ 6:30pm

Parent Update- 10/19/09

Family Nights

• Underground Reality DVD- We have started a powerful video series for the month of October(Missions Month @ Penn Valley CHurch) that is a documentary of a group of teens that went to smuggle Bibles to the underground church in Communist Vietnam.
• The Alderfers(Dale & Brenda) and the Ormes (Brian & Melissa) are the new leaders of the Junior High Ministry. The Junior High will start meeting separately 7pm Wednesday, November 4th in room 215.

Monday Night Guys & Girls Bible Studies (Jr. & Sr. High)

• Guys are meeting 7pm every other Monday night. Next meeting at the Telford Campus in the gym Oct. 19th. November 2nd they will meet at the Logan Home Dads if you are interested please contact Matt Urich.
• Girls are meeting 7pm EVERY Monday night at the Harmer's Home  Diana O'brien and Connie Harmer are the leaders. The girls are studying the topic of "Service" Contact Connie if you have questions
  

Fall Fest Party- Saturday, October 24th

• Cost $7
• Teens need to arrive at church 6:30pm, will return back to church at 9:30pm
• Bring a flashlight for the Corn Maze

Service Project- Cancelled

• Saturday, November 7th following Bible Quizzing and NAC, we will have More Til 4- fun and fellowship time. The Service Project has been cancelled BUT we will have an opportunity for teens to hang out with friends in the afternoon.
  
• Sign up deadline is Wednesday Night, November 4th.
• We will leave Telford 10am and return at 6pm
• Teens have the opportunity to purchase pizza, drink and snack or can pack a lunch

Balmer Barn Party-Saturday, October 31st

• 5:30pm-9pm, supper included!
• Students need to bring a dessert and snack to share.
• Julie would also like to have baby or toddler pictures of kids for people to guess who they are. Please email or give a baby/toddler picture to Julie Balmer

Orphan Care

• Penn Valley Youth Ministry is going to adopt a child from the Project Hope & Charite Ministry.
• Teens this Wednesday will have a chance to vote on which child they wish to sponsor.
• Teens need to bring their $1 this Wednesday to start providing for their newly adopted orphan.
• It will only cost each teen in the youth group $1 a month to support a child!

Girls Revolve Conference- November 6 & 7

• Cost is $49
• Girls will leave church Friday at 5pm, and Saturday morning at 7am.

Child Care Ministry Opportunity- Sunday Mornings in November/December

• Penn Valley Church - Buxmont Campus is looking for some child care workers for Sunday mornings in November from 8:30am-9:30am
• This is a great opportunity to serve!
• Transportation is available to the Buxmont campus.

Tonight's Elder Boarding!

Where	2420 hillcrest Quakertown PA
Note	Get ready for a great night. Our Elder for the evening is Tony Osimo and we will be swimming at his in-laws home located in Quakertown at the address listed. (be sure to use the map link if you need directions) There will be swimming, food, volleyball and a time of sharing around the campfire. I hope you can make it to this event. Please bring a lawn chair to help with seating.

A Few Penn Valley Youth Updates

Hey everyone! 

Here are a few details related to upcoming events and activities.


Iron PIgs Baseball:
Tomorrow afternoon we are going to the Allentown Iron Pigs Baseball game after church.  Please plan on meeting in the youth room directly after church.  We will plan on leaving for the game as soon as we can account for everyone. The game starts at 1:30 so we will want to get going as soon as we can. You should plan to bring a little cash for lunch to supplement the $2 food voucher that is included with your ticket. The game should last about 3 hours which should have us home in the neighborhood of 5:45.  Thankfully it looks like it's gonna be in the 70"s and sunny!

Reunion:
This wednesday June 3rd is our next Reunion.  We are planning a night of mini golf and ice cream at Freddy Hill Farms.  To simplify transportation we are asking that everyone meet at Freddy Hill Farms at 6pm Wednesday Night.  When you arrive please meet at the picnic tables near the parking lot and entrance to the golf section.  Students are asked to bring $7 for golf and ice cream.  Our activities will conclude around 8pm.  It should be a great time together!

Elder Boarding:
Elder boarding will start in June, but we are still working to finalize schedules and plan the gatherings.  Please check the web often and watch your email for updates regarding this unique opportunity througout the summer.

Record Time

Oour group is knocking it out. we finished serving and cleaning from breakfast and setting for lunch by 10:03. Wondering if that is record time? I'm thinking Yes!

After a hard day of serving tables at Tuscarora it's time for some hoops. Hope this old man can keep up. Oh to be in shape again.

So i'm at Home Depot to pick up a part to try and fix my shower this morning. pretty easy job, but the results could go anywhich way. lets hope for the best.
